Spring Things and Day 6
We went to a Crawfish Boil last night and it was so fun! Thanks Kate and Jason!! We enjoyed good weather, food, friends, beverages, and music. Coy did so great, I was truly impressed!
Today I have been getting some Spring things done around here. We started off the day by having breakfast on the back porch on our new chair cushions. (I can still buy things like that, so don't think I am cheating here). We had Rick's bakery and it tasted like Heaven. Then I went and purchased the six million gifts that I had on my list. I think I did well on all of them :) After my gift purchasing, I made my Spring/Summer wreath, and had my sweet husband hang it for me.
Day 6 of no shopping has been a challenge... That used to be what Saturdays were made for. I went to a few different stores to pick up some gifts and I saw some really cute necklaces, flip flops, shirts, dresses and hats... but walked out with nothing for myself! Yay!!
Here are some pics of my cushions that I love and my newly made wreath!
Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

Now for my self-help plan.... we will start with, "my name is Sarah and I am a Shopaholic." Let me restate that... "my name is Sarah and I WAS a Shopaholic. Ha! I have always had a fetish for shopping... it goes way back to when I was supported by my parents.. and it was a heck of a lot more fun back then :) (my dad would disagree). Anyway, I have recently found myself either shopping or thinking about shopping entirely too much. So... I have put myself on a plan to not purchase one item until July 1. Today is day 3. This includes, but is not limited to: shoes, earrings, bracelets, shirts, dresses, nightgowns (that will be hard), jeans, scarfs, swimsuits, leggings, bags, tennis apparel (the worst), rings, and the list goes on. In addition to the fact that I found myself shopping too much and spending too much money (considering the recession and all), I also discovered that I didn't ever need the things that I bought.. sometimes I didn't even LIKE them when I got home. Weird, I know! All things considered, this plan has been put into place and I will stick to it (although it will be challenging). Hopefully I will have a successful story at the end of this... wish me luck!
Off to bed. Happy Hump Day!

Here are a few pics from Easter... I didn't take any of us in our Easter clothes... it was raining and awfully nasty outside so we went for our jeans and sweater soon after church!
My friend, Jeannie, finished another home makeover for our friends Daniel and Billy. They are both consumers of Lifestyles and they live together here in Fayetteville. We redid Daniel's room a while back, but this time they redid his whole apartment, and Billy's room. I wasn't able to contribute to the remodel this time, but I went to the "Ribbon Cutting" as they called it. It was such a great celebration of their new home. Billy had invited everyone on their street... he was telling people that the mayor, the Governor, the news, etc. would be there... It was so sweet. One of Jeannie's friends called the mayor and told him the story, and he actually came!! How nice!!
This weekend, Jared went to New Orleans (more on that in a bit), so my best friends came to stay with me! We had the best time together!! I love those girls so much! We spent most of Saturday laying in my bed watching Sex and the City.. Four of us across and Spears long ways at our feet... This was just like college.. Except we have a king size bed to lay in rather than a Twin. Ha! We went to lovely dinners, hit up Dickson Street, and had the chance to really catch up. They are all doing so well. Brita is happily married and will be a doctor in a month (wow!), Effie is an art teacher and recently bought her own home, Anna loves her job as a nanny and will hopefully be engaged soon :), Spears is about to graduate from school as a speech pathologist, moved back to Tulsa and again.... hopefully be engaged soon (seriously Jake... it's been NINE years), Steph has a great job and is getting married in May of 2010!! What an exciting time!

As I said before.. Jared and his team went to Tulane this weekend for another competition. 87 teams submitted to the competition, only three were invited, winner take all.... and they WON FIRST PLACE!!! Way to go, Jared! I can't put into words how proud I am of him for all that he has done. He is home with me now, and I am so thankful for that!
I hope that everyone has a great week, looks like the weather is going to be perfect!

It's safe to say we had a nonstop, fun weekend around here. Friday we had lunch as a fam to celebrate our nephew, Charlie's bday. He had so much fun and loved the balloons from Auntie and Uncle. Jared and I went to the baseball game on Friday night... we had fun even though we lost. Thankfully, we sat in Michelle's box so we didn't freeze.
We woke up Saturday and got ready for the party. We had an absolute blast with all the fam and the kiddos!! I later went and had a 90 minute massage that was so Heavenly :)
I have had a sore neck for weeks and it really helped.
Last night Jared and I cooked our items that we were in charge of for Easter lunch. I made deviled eggs, broccoli cheese casserole and green bean casserole. Jared's late Mamaw used to make "Famous Hot Rolls" and he just loves them... so he decided that he would attempt to make them. These are the kind that have to be kept cold over night, then rise for two hours, etc etc. You can see in the pics that he made a HUGE mess in the kitchen! I told him there were definitely "too many cooks in our kitchen" last night :) This morning he got up early to get them out so they could "rise" and we left them out while we went to church. I think he was anticipating the rise of the rolls the whole time we were gone. Unfortunately, we made it home and they had not budged!!! Poor Jared. He tried so hard! Ha!!
We went to Mom and Dad's and had a lovely lunch. I think there was 14 of us around the table. It was a wonderful Easter and reminded us of how much we have to be thankful for!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!!
