An Award and A Self-Help Plan

My friend, Leigh, gave me this award! How fun!! I am supposed to pass it on, so I will do that soon :)

How I felt three days ago.....

to how I feel now... Just kidding, I just thought this was funny :)
It's not quite that bad

Now for my self-help plan.... we will start with, "my name is Sarah and I am a Shopaholic." Let me restate that... "my name is Sarah and I WAS a Shopaholic. Ha! I have always had a fetish for shopping... it goes way back to when I was supported by my parents.. and it was a heck of a lot more fun back then :) (my dad would disagree). Anyway, I have recently found myself either shopping or thinking about shopping entirely too much. So... I have put myself on a plan to not purchase one item until July 1. Today is day 3. This includes, but is not limited to: shoes, earrings, bracelets, shirts, dresses, nightgowns (that will be hard), jeans, scarfs, swimsuits, leggings, bags, tennis apparel (the worst), rings, and the list goes on. In addition to the fact that I found myself shopping too much and spending too much money (considering the recession and all), I also discovered that I didn't ever need the things that I bought.. sometimes I didn't even LIKE them when I got home. Weird, I know! All things considered, this plan has been put into place and I will stick to it (although it will be challenging). Hopefully I will have a successful story at the end of this... wish me luck!
Off to bed. Happy Hump Day!

gosh, this is inspiring!!! seems like you have a strong will! ummm, my name is megan and I, too have a shopping addiction. it has gotten better but probably stopping all together would be best....I blame it on the fact that I drive around all day..its just SO easy to drop in a few places during lunch :/ I'll think about it....

GOOD LUCK!! ps - you always look soo cute!

I'm impressed...with your award and iron will- JULY! I've been inspired by the "Go Shopping in your Closet" segments on the Today show myself. You could easily do that, you always look so cute! Hats off to you!!

I gave up shopping last year for Lent and it changed my entire view of shopping... Now I can really distinguish between things I love and must have and stupid impulse buys. I haven't bought anything in the past year that still has the tags on it. A good test is always to make yourself walk around with the item for a while, then re-evaluate what you think of it...

The upside to your challenge is that your birthday falls during the time....ha! You can do it. Since I bought my house I have tried to scale back on my shopping habit and I have found that I really do have TOO much stuff. Good luck. Thanks again for such a fun weekend. Love you!!
